Keys and locks: When you arrive, you can get entry keycard from the reception personnel on the 2nd floor behind the counter. Please don’t lose it or you’ll be charged 100,000COP ($25USD) to replace it. Reception will give you the new keycard in that event. The key to the balcony is in the lock to that sliding door. No need to lock it (except for children!).

Towels: In each closet you’ll find six towels.

Extra sofa bed: In addition to the sofa bed in the living room, there is another one on the balcony — a double.

Extra Sheets and Pillows: You can find these in the closets.

Toiletries: All of these can be found in the bathrooms.

Police: Tourist police (always in uniform) can be found in many tourist locations — the Bocagrande beaches, the Plaza de los Coches (near the clock tower), Castillo San Felipe, etc. They are trained to assist foreigners.

ATMs: The closest ATM to Palmetto 404 is located about 2 1/2 blocks from the apartment. To get there, turn left as you exit Palmetto Uno and walk to the first street you reach (Calle 8) and go left. Walk to the second major avenue on Calle 8. That avenue is called Carrera 3. The Spanish bank BBVA is on the corner. with ATMS inside. You can’t miss it. Cash withdrawals are small so you may want to do it twice. There are also Bancolombia and Davienda ATMs in the old city, in front of the Hilton (in Laguito), the airport and so forth.

Money Exchanges (Casas de Cambio): These you can find in many places in Bocagrande, the Old City, the airport, and Getsemani. Make sure you check the exchange rates (about 4,000COP/$1USD or 4,650/1 Euro) and the fees. In most, you will need to show your passport.

Credit and debit cards: Nearly all restaurants, bars, hotels and shops accept these but smaller stores may ask for cash.

Carrying cash: Best done in the amount you need for the day or outing. It’s also a good idea to have smaller bills like 2,000COP, 10s, 20s and 50s.
